The foundation of this work is a psychoterratic state known as SYMBIOMENT.
I understand symbioment as a condition in which all life exists within interconnected systems, without a clear outside. It moves away from human-centered thinking and instead sees nature as one continuous skin. Inspired by that I found a beautiful connection between stretch marks and sand formations. Stretch marks feel like slow waves in the skin, traces of tension, growth, and change as time passes. They form lines that may appear random, but are shaped by underlying forces within the body, much like the patterns left in sand by the movement of water.
The installation consists of a latex surface embedded with sand, forming a single body where these two seemingly separated worlds become one. By merging the two scales, the work reveals a connection between the skin of the earth and the skin of the human, making it nearly impossible to tell them apart.
